The project we present focuses on detecting faults in electronic components of the Diesel CRDI 2.2 engine by analyzing the vibrations produced. The objective is to associate the spectrum produced by each specific fault to quickly identify the origin of the problem. To achieve this, the vibration spectrum parameters of the engine were established under three load regimes in normal operating conditions, using the crankshaft height as a reference point. The vibration spectra induced by faults in the engine coolant temperature sensor, intake manifold pressure, and fuel rail pressure sensor were obtained by inducing independent faults in each of these sensors.
