dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the design and implementation of a PID control system and a state space control system to control a thermal process in the University laboratory. The implementation was carried out on an STM32F407 discovery card programmed with Simulink from Matlab, using the Waijung library. An operation and monitoring interface was created within Simulink to observe the performance of the controller in real time. To obtain the model of the thermal process, an identification technique was used from an open-loop data capture. Then, the controllers were designed from the obtained transfer function, using Matlab tools and commands. The novelty of the work lies in the implementation of the controllers in the STM32F407 card with Simulink from Matlab. The end result was an efficient and precise control system for the thermal process.
