| dc.description | A person during the aging process requires specialized care that allows him/her to improve in his/her natural process by adapting changes in his/her physical state, corresponding to the roles that social beliefs assign him/her according to his/her age and the way in which he/she fulfills the associated expectations; therefore, the objective of this research was to establish the care provided by Social Work in the integral health of older adults at the Gerontological Center Santa Gema de Galgani. This study was of a descriptive type considered in a qualitative, exploratory and analytical approach, it was based on theories and research on the subject; the data collection was through virtual tools using the survey technique whose instrument was a questionnaire of questions asked online and directly to 50 older adults of the Gerontological Center Santa Gema de Galgani of the parish Abdón Calderón of the canton Portoviejo. | dc.description | Una persona durante su proceso de envejecimiento requiere de atenciones especializadas que le permitan mejorar en su proceso natural adaptando cambios en su estado físico, los que correspondientes en los roles que las creencias sociales le van asignando según su edad y de la forma en que cumple las expectativas asociadas, por ello el objetivo de esta investigación fue establecer la atención que brinda el Trabajo Social en la salud integral de los adultos mayores del Centro Gerontológico Santa Gema de Galgani. Este estudio fue de tipo descriptivo considerado en un enfoque cualitativo, exploratorio y analítico, se fundamentó en teorías e investigaciones acerca del tema; la recopilación de datos fue por medio de herramientas virtuales utilizando la técnica de la encuesta cuyo instrumento fue un cuestionario de preguntas realizadas por internet y de forma directa a 50 adultos mayores del Centro Gerontológico Santa Gema de Galgani de la parroquia Abdón Calderón del cantón Portoviejo. La gestión del Trabajo Social en el área gerontológica permite comprender que cada proceso efectuado debe canalizar las necesidades más complejas en el adulto mayor, para ello el profesional gestiona de manera recurrente entre el conocimiento obtenido en el proceso de experiencia profesional | es-ES |
