dc.descriptionLa Vida de Juan el Limosnero, escrita por Leoncio de Neápolis a mediados del siglo VII, narra la vida y acciones del Patriarca de Alejandría (610-619). El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar una selección específica de episodios transmitidos en un manuscrito de los siglos XI-XII. Nos enfocaremos en sus características narrativas con la hipótesis de que tienen el fin de llegar con mayor potencia a un público medio, convocándolo a través de su progresiva incorporación en la serie de relatos, algunas veces incluso como protagonista. Esperamos concluir que en el desarrollo de la serie se opera un deslizamiento de las características del héroe hagiográfico hacia el ‘hombre común’ con eje en la virtud de la caridad, y que la estructura narrativa simple y episódica coadyuva al fin edificante.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe Life of John The Almsgiver, written by Leontius of Neapolis in the middle of the seventh century, narrates the life and actions of the Patriarch of Alexandria (610-619). The aim of the present work is to analyze a specific selection of episodes transmitted in a manuscript of the eleventh or twelfth centuries. We will focus on its narrative features with the hypothesis that they have the purpose of reaching out with greater strength to an average public, summoning it through his progressive incorporation in the series of stories, sometimes even as protagonist. We expect to conclude that in the development of the series takes place a displacement of the hagiographic hero’s features towards the ‘common man’ with axis in the virtue of charity, and that the simple and episodic narrative structure contributes to the edifying purpose.  en-US
