dc.description | In this research the adsorption of Mn (II) in aqueous solutions was studied using natural bentonite, sawdust and the mixture of both adsorbents, at pH from 2 to 9. Adsorbents were characterized by XRD, FRX, MEB and adsorption of N2 at 77 K. Using the adsorbent dosing curves, it was found that the adequate mass for the adsorption process was 20 g/L. The variables in Batch system, at pH of 2 to 9, contact time of 180 min and at room temperature, in aqueous solutions of 18 mg/L of Mn (II) were studied. The adsorption mechanism of the process was studied by the models of Langmuir and Freundlich, finding that the one which best adapted to this process was the that of Freundlich. The highest percentage Mn (II) removal were reached using bentonite as adsorbent and at a pH of 8, achieving a 96 % removal. | en-US |
