dc.description.abstractThis research project has its origin in the formal or informal educational practices that are intrinsic to the experiences of solidarity (popular) economy. The pedagogical mediations made possible specifically by associated labor undertakings are the focus of this dissertation, which is situated in the area of education and labor. Although these undertakings are economically fragile, in them the re-signified popular education finds a fertile ground, generating educational possibilities to create a new individual and collective ethos. Such a focus implies the investigation of the pedagogical mediations that favor the formation of an emancipating ethos. The author’s option for a methodology of research-training led to the choice of the Association of Recyclers of Dois Irmãos as an empirical field of reference. The participatory process developed for two years with that Association added value to methodological and pedagogical elements of the systematization and participatory research.
