The intent of this work is to perform a critical analysis of the establishment of social networks and political strategies of both Catholic and Lutheran groups. In order to do so, the area of Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, and the time from 1924 to 1945 have been selected respectively as our spatial and chronological theme. The objective is to list and analyze how these intra/extra group relationships are established and built, and also to understand the different strategies used by them, as well as their roles in different social spaces and in relation to the public administration. These strategies seek to help them achieve their goals, mainly the participation and role inside the political, economical and social power, in the regional, state and national spheres. By taking in consideration that the period between the end of the 1930's and the half of the 1940's was significantly marked by two major events of national (New State, from 1937 to 1945) and global (Second World War, between 1939 and 1945) dimensions, we will try to analyze how these events have influenced these groups and which social and political strategies were developed and performed by the Catholic and Lutheran groups.
