dc.description.abstract“Avant garde in dialogue” proposes itself to understand the movie Wavelength (1967) through its interseccionalities with the minimal art in the United States in the 60s. Studying the theory of the avant garde, the project is divided in three major parts. In the first one, a historical context of the avant garde, minimalism and structural film. The second part, a comparative analysis between the minimal art theory and Snow’s movie, interpreting the formal elements of its mise en scène, beyond the fact to try to understand the movie in question inside the hole artistic carreer of its author, Michael Snow
