Influencia de la cuarentena por COVID-19 sobre la tasa de embarazos en pacientes que acuden al Hospital Universitario de Guayaquil

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la influencia que tuvo la cuarentena por covid 19 en la tasa de embarazos de pacientes que acuden al Hospital GinecoObstetrico Pediátrico Universitario de Guayaquil. Esta investigación abarca un estudio observacional, que permite identificar mediante técnicas de estudio, las variables recopiladas en la investigación. La población estuvo conformada por 4147 pacientes, de las cuales la muestra fue de 352, como técnica de investigación se utilizó la encuesta en pacientes que cursaron embarazo en tiempo de cuarentena. En los resultados se determinó un alza del 19.5% de incremento de embarazos en marzo-junio del año 2020 en tiempo de cuarentena, y en una menor cifra de embarazos en marzo-junio del 2018-2019 en comparación con datos anteriores. Además de los factores que influenciaron en la no planificación familiar durante la cuarentena por Covid 19, siendo el principal de ellos el temor a salir de casa en un 45%, centros de salud sin servicio en un 27%, por cuidado de los hijos en un 21% y cónyuge desempleado en un 8%. Se encontró también en el estudio que el 16% de las pacientes sufrieron violencia verbal, física y sexual durante la pandemia. Finalmente se concluye que existe un significativo aumento en embarazos del 2020 durante la cuarentena por covid-19 en comparación con las cifras de años anteriores por diversos factores el principal de ellos por temor a salir de casa y contagiarse por el virus preexistente. Se concluye también sobre los factores psicológicos que influenciaron durante la cuarentena como el temor, ansiedad y depresión.

The main objective of this research was to determine the influence that the COVID-19 quarantine had on the pregnancy rate of patients who attend the Hospital GinecoObstetrico Pediátrico Universitario de Guayaquil. This research includes an observational study, which allows to identify through study techniques, the variables collected in the research. The population consisted of 4147 patients, of which the sample was 352, as a research technique the survey was used in patients who were pregnant in quarantine time. In the results, a 19.5% increase in pregnancies was determined in March-June of the year 2020 in quarantine time, and in a lower number of pregnancies in March-June of 2018-2019 compared to previous data. In addition to the factors that influenced non-family planning during the Covid 19 quarantine, the main one being the fear of leaving home in 45%, health centers without service in 27%, due to childcare in 21% and unemployed spouse 8%. It was also found in the study that 16% of the patients suffered verbal, physical and sexual violence during the pandemic. Finally, it is concluded that there is a significant increase in pregnancies in 2020 during the quarantine by covid-19 compared to the figures of previous years due to various factors, the main one of them for fear of leaving home and being infected by the pre-existing virus. It is also concluded on the psychological factors that influenced during the quarantine such as fear, anxiety and depression. Keywords: Covid-19, quarantine, pregnancy, family
