The eating behavior is often influenced by emotional factors as stress and anxiety. Therefore, the objective on this research was to determine the relationship between emotions and eating behavior in adults. This is a quantitative-qualitative and descriptive cross-sectional study were measured in a sample of 65 teachers from the Unidad Educativa “Luis Alfredo Noboa Icaza”, the range of age was 25 – 60 years old; 66.15 % female and 33.85% male. The prevalence overweight was 50.76%. The result of the association between cardiovascular risk and body mass index was Pearson<0.0001*, proving there was a direct correlation between them. On the other hand, there were significant differences (P=0.4224) between body mass index and emotional eater diagnosis. It means, the proposed hypothesis was rejected because one variable does not influence the other.
