| dc.description.abstract | La práctica odontológica generalmente suele basarse en la prevención, diagnóstico y tratamiento de patologías del aparato estomatognático, no obstante, dicho aparato no es un ente aislado dentro del cuerpo humano, en consecuencia, al atender a un paciente en los servicios odontológicos es importante analizar a éste, desde un punto de vista completo e integral. El desconocimiento o conocimiento insuficiente de cualquier área podría tener repercusiones negativas tanto en la vida de los pacientes, como en la del personal de atención involucrado en un posible accidente médico. Esta investigación tiene como fin compilar información sobre los protocolos para el abordaje de las diferentes emergencias médicas que se puedan presentar en el servicio odontológico. Mediante un estudio cualitativo, documental, exploratorio y descriptivo basado en recolección y revisión de literatura científica. Como resultados podemos establecer que los procedimientos a seguir en una emergencia médico- odontológica van a depender del tipo de emergencia, y del conocimiento y pericia del personal de salud tratante. Sin embargo, las emergencias más comunes requieren tratamiento medicamentoso, seguido de ciertas maniobras establecidas para cada caso particular.Dental practice is generally based on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pathologies of the stomatognathic apparatus, however said apparatus is not an isolated entity within the human body, consequently, when caring for a patient in dental services it is important to analyze it, from a complete and comprehensive point of view. Lack of knowledge or insufficient knowledge of any area could have negative repercussions both in the lives of patients and in that of the care personnel involved in a possible medical accident. The purpose of this research is to compile information on the protocols for dealing with the different medical emergencies that may arise in the dental service. Through a qualitative, documentary, exploratory and descriptive study based on the collection and review of scientific literature. As a result, we can establish that the procedures to be followed in a medical-dental emergency will depend on the type of emergency, and on the knowledge and expertise of the treating health personnel. However, the most common emergencies require drug treatment, followed by certain maneuvers established for each particular case. | |
