La parálisis cerebral infantil y su relación con la deglución atípica

Abstract

La parálisis cerebral infantil es un trastorno que afecta al sistema nervioso central, puede manifestarse durante el período pre, peri o post natal, desencadenando alteraciones en la motricidad orofacial, deglución y por ende al lenguaje, afectando al paciente y a sus familiares de manera social y psicológica. En el Hospital del Niño “Dr. Francisco Icaza Bustamante” se escogió la población y muestra, siendo aquí donde esta patología, engloba el porcentaje mayoritario de discapacidad, por ello la necesidad de empezar el tratamiento oportuno desde edades tempranas con el profesional en terapia del lenguaje, para impedir que sus capacidades motrices buco-fonatorias se deterioren, a su vez desarrollen habilidades correctas de deglución y articulación. La investigación se ha llevado a cabo con la metodología de tipo; cuantitativa y de campo con niños de 2 a 7 años de edad que manifiestan parálisis cerebral infantil relacionada a deglución atípica. Se utilizó el instrumento encuesta, mediante el cual se trataron puntos claves para la rehabilitación de los pacientes, obteniendo resultados favorables al tratamiento motriz de la zona oral, correspondiente a interposición lingual, labial, control de sialorrea y estimulación para posterior articulación fonética
