Salud oral: prevención y técnica de cepillado en niños con hemiplejia leve del centro de rehabilitación integral Ceriem del cantón El Empalme

Abstract

El Centro de Rehabilitación Integral CERIEM del cantón El Empalme, muestra sin duda una gran población de niños con diversas patologías, los cuales son usuarios y beneficiaros de los servicios gratuitos que allí ofertan, pero, si bien es cierto muchas de esas patologías tienen incidencia a nivel bucal, estudios de observación y análisis cualicuantitativo por parte de odontólogos de dicha ciudad, manifiestan haber analizado esta población, y se han encontrado con gran porcentaje de caries por usuario. Objetivo: Promover la salud buco dental de los niños y niñas con hemiplejía leve usuarios de CERIEM a través de métodos preventivos de higiene y aseo. Metodología: cualitativa y descriptiva mediante la elaboración de encuesta realizada en la Institución CERIEM del cantón del Empalme Resultados: la percepción de los profesionales de CERIEM es muy baja en cuanto a técnica de cepillado y prevención de caries, a pesar de no tener estudios previos de técnica de cepillado, ellos enseñaban y colaboraban con el refuerzo de higiene dental a ciertos niños con independencia motriz, Conclusión: en relación a lo planteado y a la relación con los profesionales de CERIEM, la técnica de cepillado más apropiada a realizar es; la técnica de barrido o la técnica horizontal, debido a su simpleza en cuanto a maniobras, y al grado de rigidez que presentan los niños en su brazo, para luego implementar los movimientos circulares de la técnica de FONES, para ir aumentando la eficacia del cepillado dental y prevenir la caries dental.

The CERIEM Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in the corner of El Empalme, undoubtedly shows a large population of children with various pathologies, who are users and beneficiaries of the free services offered there, but, although it is true many of these pathologies have an impact on oral level, observational studies and qualitativequantitative analysis by dentists of said city, they have analyzed this population, and they have found a large percentage of caries per user. Objective: To promote the dental health of children with mild hemiplegia by CERIEM users through preventive hygiene and hygiene methods. Methodology: qualitative and descriptive by means of the elaboration of survey carried out in the CERIEM Institution of the corner of the Empalme Results: the perception of the professionals of CERIEM is very low in terms of brushing technique and caries prevention, in spite of not having previous studies of brushing technique, they taught and collaborated with the reinforcement of dental hygiene to certain children with motor independence, Conclusion: in relation to the raised and the relationship with the professionals of CERIEM, the most appropriate brushing technique to perform is; the sweeping technique or the horizontal technique, due to its simplicity in terms of maneuvers, and the degree of rigidity that children present in their arms, to then implement the circular movements of the FONES technique, to increase the efficiency of brushing dental and prevent tooth decay.
