Propuesta de rehabilitación urbana del Barrio del Astillero de la ciudad de Guayaquil, a partir del análisis del deterioro de la imagen urbana

Abstract

El Barrio del Astillero conserva entre las Calles que se superponen y conforman su trama urbana actual las diversas características del Guayaquil portuario, industrial y cosmopolita que creció alimentado por la cadencia del río durante los últimos siglos. El paso del tiempo y el crecimiento acelerado de la ciudad ha provocado la trasformación de este espacio urbano. Debido a la perdida de la antaño importante relación de la ciudad con el rio y la paulatina desaparición de las antiguas actividades industriales y navales, el Barrio se encuentra envuelto en un proceso de deterioro y abandono, que no ha podido ser detenido por las intervenciones urbanas que se han dado por parte de entes municipales, provocando un abandono cada vez mayor y con esto una mayor merma de la imagen urbana. La intervención de este nodo urbano significativo planteado en el presente trabajo busca rescatar esa imagen urbana y recuperar su identidad como sector, potenciando la riqueza histórica que tiene el barrio, todo esto a partir de un estudio profundo de sus características físicas, históricas y de movilidad que permitirán plantear una intervención de rehabilitación que se ajuste a la realidad de este entorno urbano y de quienes lo habitan.

The Barrio del Astillero preserves various characteristics of the port, industrial and cosmopolitan Guayaquil, which grow with the cadence of the river during the last centuries. The passage of time and the accelerated growth of the city has caused the transformation of this urban space. Due to the loss of the longstanding relationship between the city and the river and the gradual disappearance of the old industrial and naval activities. The neighborhood is involved in a process of deterioration and abandonment that has not been stopped by the urban interventions that Have been given by municipal authorities, causing an increasing abandonment and with this a greater reduction of the urban image. The intervention of this significant urban node proposed in the present work seeks to rescue this urban image and recover its identity as a sector, enhancing the historical wealth that the neighborhood has. All this from a deep study of its physical, historical and mobility characteristics, which will allow us to propose a rehabilitation intervention that, fits the reality of this urban environment and of those who inhabit it.
