Osteogénesis imperfecta prevalencia en el Hospital Francisco Icaza Bustamante

Abstract

La osteogénesis imperfecta es una enfermedad hereditaria del colágeno del cual conlleva a las fracturas frecuentes y según el tipo de osteogénesis la muerte. El diagnostico se establece mediante clínica y métodos completarlos como la genética. El tratamiento es multidisciplinario con ayuda de fisioterapia y medicina ocupacional para la prevención de fracturas. En el Hospital Francisco Icaza Bustamante se realizó un estudio cuyo Objetivo General fue determinar la prevalencia de la osteogénesis imperfecta, en pacientes hospitalizados durante el periodo 2006 hasta el 2016. La Metodología que se utilizó fue de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, de corte transversal, retrospectivo, observacional, ordenado y diferencial.

Osteogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary disease of collagen which leads to frequent fractures and death according to the type of osteogenesis. The diagnosis is established through the clinic and the complete methods of genetics. The treatment is multidisciplinary with the help of physiotherapy and occupational medicine for the prevention of fractures.
