REFLEXIONES SOBRE UN PATRIMONIO OLVIDADO: MUSEO VALDIVIA. ESTRATEGIAS PARA SU REVALORIZACIÓN COMO ATRACTIVO TURÍSTICO CULTURAL, PROVINCIA DE SANTA ELENA, 2017

Abstract

El presente trabajo refleja el estudio desarrollado en el Museo Valdivia ubicado en la provincia de Santa Elena, sitio que guarda la historia, restos arqueológicos y objetos de diversas culturas precolombinas en su interior, hechos que hacen de Valdivia un lugar característico en Ecuador. A pesar de ser el museo un patrimonio importante, problemas de diversas índoles como los pocos recursos materiales, económicos y humanos que se encuentran vinculados para su funcionamiento, demuestran la falta de sensibilización y la poca valorización de sus bienes ancestrales por parte de los locales, lo cual ha incidido en que su existencia sea poco conocida y por lo tanto insuficientemente visitada. Frente a las dificultades, el museo busca hacerse notar y no perder el bagaje cultural que mantiene; proponiéndose estas reflexiones sobre un patrimonio olvidado con el fin de potenciar su valor histórico-arqueológico y darle la relevancia necesaria en la sociedad gracias a la aplicación de las correctas estrategias de revalorización como atractivo turístico las cuales ayuden a potenciar el turismo cultural de la zona.

The present research reflects the study developed in the Valdivia Museum located in the province of Santa Elena, a place that houses the history, archaeological remains and objects of diverse pre-Columbian cultures in its interior, facts that make of Valdivia a characteristic place in Ecuador. Although the museum is an important heritage, problems of various kinds, such as the few material, economic and human resources that are linked to its functioning, show the lack of awareness and the little valuation of their ancestral goods by the locals, which has made its existence little known and therefore insufficiently visited. Facing the difficulties, the museum seeks to be noticed and not lose the cultural baggage that maintains; proposing these reflections on a forgotten heritage to enhance its historical and archaeological value and give it the necessary relevance in society thanks to the application of the correct strategies of revaluation as a tourist attraction which help to promote cultural tourism in the area.
