dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work determines clinical aspects - mechanics in the
rehabilitation of edentulous patients with removable partial dentures and fixed
in the comprehensive clinic Pilot School of Dentistry 2014-2015. Commonly
occur in dentistry, patients who have lost most of their teeth for various
reasons. Such patients have been affected by the lack of teeth in terms of
functional and aesthetic. This last point is a factor that generates high
expectations as to the results to be obtained after having completed the
required treatment. The biggest concern of the partially edentulous patient will
receive a removable partial denture, it is the fact that this structure contains
metallic or "artificial" elements that are noticeable and unsightly and
unpleasant result. For this reason, it has been a great challenge for modern
restorative area, guide research in order to obtain better results than
conventional prostheses provide, using new materials that can go unnoticed
and provide greater patient comfort. However, it is important to know that
studies show that patient satisfaction is related to aesthetics achieved as well
as the health of the residual tissue, without forgetting the role as the lowest
satisfaction, values were found on the lower retention prosthesis in which the
waste is retained meals under the prosthesis. All dental treatment must
respond to the needs and wishes of the patient therefore should be highly
individualized not only for the patient but also in relation to the disease being
treated. the developed methodology is descriptive with a transversal,
correlational field throughout the project phases methodological development;
planning implementation and evaluation. | |
