Estimación de la capacidad de carga turística en el sendero Huaquillas en el área nacional de recreación isla Santay

Abstract

Se estimó la capacidad de carga turística del sendero Huaquillas, que mide 400m. de longitud y 2m. de ancho ubicado en el Área Nacional de Recreación isla Santay, que además es un Humedal de importancia internacional declarado por la convención Ramsar el 10 de octubre del 2000,y que se encuentra frente a la ciudad de Guayaquil, pertenece al Cantón Durán y está en el Delta del Rìo Guayas. En el año 2004 por el Blgo. Navarrete estimó para toda la Isla la capacidad de carga biofísica de los sitios de visitas planificados para la Isla Santay, eso fue cuando no habían senderos artificiales y esta investigación busca estimar la capacidad de carga turística en el sendero natural Huaquillas basándose en la metodología de Cifuentes, (1992). El objetivo de esta investigación es estimar el número de personas que puede soportar el sendero Huaquillas para de esta forma establecer cuantos turistas por día que pueden visitar el sendero para preservar la flora y fauna existente en el sitio. El sendero Huaquillas ofrece diferentes servicios caracterizados en sistemas de servicios turísticos artificiales como; servicios higiénicos, letreros (señalética), asientos, puentes y el mirador, todos estos en buen estado realizado bajo observación directa del sitio de estudio, el sistema de servicios turísticos naturales descritos tienen a lo largo del sendero especies amenazadas que se encuentran en el libro rojo de la UICN, IBAs BirdLife International y Convención sobre el Comercio Internacional de Especies Amenazadas de Fauna y Flora Silvestres CITES. Debido a las características naturales del sendero Huaquillas se ha realizado la estimación de la capacidad de carga durante los días de feriado o fines de semana donde se presenta mayor cantidad de visitantes que oscilan entre 10 y 87 turistas, siendo la capacidad de carga efectiva del sendero Huaquillas de 55 visitas por día.

The tourism’s capacity of HuaquillasTrail was estimated, which is 400 m lon and 2 metres wide, which located in the National Recreation Area of the island Santay, which is also a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention declared on October 10, 2000and it is located in front of Guayaquil, in Duran in the delta of river Guayas. In 2004 the biologist Navarrete described the biophysical capacity of the tourist site of the whole island and it happens when there is no man made trails and the goal of this research is to find out an estimated tourist load in the natural Huaquillas Trail basind on the previous investigation of Cifuentes, (1992). The objective of this investigation is to know the number of people who are welcomed in Huaquillas Trail to determine the number of tourists who can visit this tourist’s side to preserve flora and fauna of this place. In Huaquillas Trail is offered different touristic services like restrooms, signs (conventional signs), benches, observation points, and all of this are in a good conditions due to the constant maintenance, the system of tourism service describes the condition , and species of this place are in “the red by book”, “birdlife international convention”, foreign trail of flora and fauna. Due to natural characteristics of Huaquillas Trail was performed the capacity of Huaquillas Trail during the holidays and weekends, when there are the biggest amount of visitors, ranging between 10 to 87 tourists, and the effective capacity of Huaquillas Trail is 55 tourists per day.
