In this article, we present a reflection on the typology of violence expressed in The Golden Ass, by Apuleius. We give special importance to the means by which this phenomenon is organized, namely, distributing itself, on the one hand, around the main story and the inserted tales, and, on the other hand, distributing itself by the structural, thematic and phenotypic levels. With this purpose, we seek to point out how similar types of individual violent actions can hold sometimes interpretive readings with different meanings.
