dc.description.abstractA new genus, Dissimulitermes Constantini & Cancello gen. nov., is described from the Neotropical region. The main morphological feature of the new genus is remarkable defensive organs. A new species of Dissimulitermes is described: D. invisibilis Constantini & Cancello, sp. nov. Description, comparisons, measurements, a distribution map, histology of their dehiscent organ, and an illustration of all the fundamental morphological aspects are provided.
