In this work, we present the translation into Portuguese of the short story L'irruzione, by Brazilian writer Julio Cesar Monteiro Martins. Established in Italy from the 1970s, the writer belongs to the generation of writers who participated in the boom of the Brazilian tale in the decades of 1960-70. Originally written in Italian, the text refers to the invasion of the Diaz School, followed by brutal repression by the Italian police during the G8 meeting in the city of Genoa in 2001, and reaffirms some of the writer's main literary characteristics: the political commitment to denounce injustice, the critical approach to violence, the bond with the so-called brutalism (BOSI, 1978) or fierce realism (CANDIDO, 1989), the emphasis on colloquial language. The translation is preceded by a brief bio-bibliographic presentation of the author, commented on in notes and followed by the original in Italian.
