| dc.description | The environmental ínterpretation of graín-size statistical parameters is a long and controversial matter in the geological literature. A trend has been devised by Folk & Ward (1957) that indícates a relationship for mean size, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis in the -3ø to +3ø interval. This work furthers this investigation up to +8ø through 588 samples from coastal environments.
