REE PATTERNS OF CRUSTAL, CALK-ALKALINE, AND RAPAKIVI GRANITES: INFLUENCE OF ACCESSORY MINERALS

| dc.description | One hundred and twenty three analyses for rocks, matrixes of porphyritic rocks and accessory minerals (sphene, zircon, tourmaline) from crustal (including tourmaline granites), calc-alkaline and rapakivi granites from the State of São Paulo, SE Brazil, are presented, compared and discussed. By zircon typology, these granites belong to the lineages 3,4a, 4b, and 5 in Pupin's (1980) classification. The data show large influence of sphene, zircon, and tourmaline in the shape of the whole rock REE pattern of the, respectively, crustal/calc-alkaline, rapakivi and tourmaline granites. The matrixes of porphyritic rocks show higher REE contents than the whole rocks; the zircons from different granitoids lineages have REE contents proportional to those of the host rocks, and in the tourmaline granites the REE contents reflect clearly the modal percentage of this accessory mineral. The mean REE contents in these rocks increase progressively along the lineage sequence 3, 4a, 4b and 5. The data also show the active participation of accessory minerals in the fractional crystallization of granitic magmas and that the interpretation of the REE pattern of granitoids is a complex task which requires not only whole rock data but also those of REE concentration in accessory minerals or chemical data which allow to trace their behaviour during magma evolution. | en-US |
| dc.description | São apresentados, comparados e discutidos 123 análises de ETR de rochas totais, matrizes de rochas porfiróides/porfiríticas e minerais acessórios (titanita, zircão e turmalina) de granitos crustais (incluindo turmalina granitos), cálcio-alcalinos e rapakivi do Estado de São Paulo. Por sua tipologia do zircão, os granitos considerados, representam as linhagens 3,4a, 4b e S. Os dados revelam a grande influência dos padrões de ETR da titanita, zircão e turmalina na modelagem dos padrões de ETR globais, respectivamente, dos granitos crustais/cálcio-alcalinos, rapakivi e turmalina granitos. Nas rochas porfirfticas e porfiróides as matrizes têm conteúdos de ETR maiores que as rochas totais; os zircões de diferentes linhagens de granitóides têm teores de ETR proporcionais aos de suas rochas hospedeiras e nos turmalina granitos os teores de ETR são proporcionais aos conteúdos modais neste mineral acessório. Os teores médios de ETR nas rochas estudadas aumentam sucessivamente segundo a seqüência das linhagens 3 - 4a - 4b-5. Os dados indicam igualmente a participação ativa dos minerais acessórios na cristalização fracionada de magmas granitóides e que a interpretação dos padrões de ETR em rochas granitóides é tarefa complexa que requer conjuntamente, dados para rocha total e seus minerais acessórios ou dados químicos que permitem rastear o comportamento dos mesmos durante a evolução magmática. | pt-BR |
