dc.descriptionThe present study was carried out in order to determine the relationship between the FelineGingivitis Stomatitis Complex (CGEF) and the infections caused by the feline immunodeficiency virus(FIV) and the feline leukemia virus (FeLV). For this purpose 22 animals of the feline species were used,without distinction of race, sex or age, with or without symptoms of Feline Gingivitis Stomatitis Complexthat came to the Clínica Veterinaria Demovet of the City of Asunción and the Veterinary Hospital from theDepartment of Veterinary Clinics of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the National University ofAsunción, with oral masses. The animals were subdued to anesthesia and biopsy of the masses, inaddition to serological sampling for feline immunodeficiency (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLV). Theresults obtained showed that 13 felines presented CGEF components by histopathology, and the serologyshowed 6 positives to FIV and 2 to FeLV, finding no association between the pathologies studied (p =0.4861).en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente estudio fue realizado con el fin de determinar la relación existente entre elComplejo Gingivitis Estomatitis Felino (CGEF) y las infecciones por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia felina(VIF) y el virus de la leucemia felina (ViLeF). Para tal efecto fueron utilizados 22 animales de la especiefelina, sin distinción de raza, sexo ni edad, con o sin sintomatología de Complejo Estomatitis GingivitisFelina que acudieron a consulta a la Clínica Veterinaria Demovet de la Ciudad de Asunción, y al HospitalVeterinario del Departamento de Clínicas Veterinarias de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de laUniversidad Nacional de Asunción, con masas bucales. Los animales fueron sometidos a anestesia ybiopsia de las masas, además de muestreos serológicos para inmunodeficiencia felina (VIF) y el virus de laleucemia felina (ViLeF). Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que 13 felinos presentaron porhistopatología, componentes del CGEF, y la serología demostró 6 positivos a VIF y 2 a ViLeF, noencontrando relación asociación entre las patologías estudiadas (p=0,4861).es-ES
