This work aims to analyze the WC coating ( Tungsten Carbide ) by SATG welding process with powder feed , thus verifying how this coating improves the resistance against wear caused by friction , which is responsible for much of the maintenance costs many industries. Three specimens according pre established parameters of welding and subjected to testing hardness , optical microscopy and dilution analysis were prepared. The microstructures obtained were similar to other processes as well as hardness and dilution. These results show that with GTAW alloys in powder form can be an alternative to performing hard coatings.
