Área de preservação permanente de cursos d´água e várzeas: ante os interesses de ambientalistas e empresários rurais

Abstract

This paper presents a theoretical-conceptual approach of changes related to permanent preservation areas and water courses and meadows on the new forest code, rescuing the historic forest of Brazil legislation and also defining and demonstrating the importance of Permanent preservation areas in chemical, physical, biological factors and socio-economic. Raises historical aspects of occupation of land, features the rural production of our country and expressed the importance of Brazilian agriculture on the world stage. The focus of the work is in the aftermath that the new legislation will cause to the environment and the rural entrepreneur, described himself the placement of "ruralists" and environmentalists, were compared to the items of the new code in different ways. Faced with the impossibility of consensus between " rural producers" and environmentalists, this paper proposes measures based on scientific studies and existing programmes for a sustainable agriculture in Brazil.
