dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the main difficulties and benefits perceived in the implementation of the ISO9001.2008 standard in a small company. The company in question was not certified in any standard, it did not formalize its constantly changing procedures. The consulting process for compliance with the ISO9001: 2008 standard started in mid-2015, and only at the beginning of 2017 was it certified. Through interviews with sector leaders and company directors involved in the process of implementing the ISO9001: 2008 standard, used to understand which barriers faced by an organization of this size to achieve the desired certification, and the benefits already perceived in each sector after 12 months of certification. The main implemented procedures to compose the new management system were explained and the managers of each sector pointed out the difficulties were found in the implementation process and what benefits can already be discerned. The increase of internal bureaucratic procedures was one of the main faced, according to the managers interviewed, and the main benefit already perceived after the implementation has been the traceability of the processes, generated precisely by the bureaucratic processes implemented.
