dc.description.abstractSince its philosophical underpinnings, physics, chemistry and biology seek to understand the origin of the phenomena of nature and an understanding of the intrinsic properties of matter. From the XIX century, research purist, gave rise to the applied study culminating in the development of products and technological processes of immediate socioeconomic benefits, as well as the emergence of various engineering fields such as electrical engineering, and chemical engineering. Therefore, understanding the behavior of the physical properties of matter implies the field of knowledge that adds value to the cultural and socioeconomic academic research. It is proposed to construct a thermoelectric device for temperature control toward the determination of an intrinsic property of matter mole, based on the domain's knowledge of the physical properties of matter, in particular the specific heat. Therefore, it is proposed the construction and characterization of a thermally powered calorimeter as well as the specific heat of materials elements such as: water, glycerin and soybean oil. The expected results are aimed at developing a device for thermal characterization of soft matter as well as the development of a control device based on the thermal properties of the material. Even in this work may be found another application for the technique by developing a reactor curing unit.
