The industry in general has experienced, in recent decades, an accelerated search for efficiency, cost reduction, shorter product life cycles and faster processes aiming at adaptability to an increasingly changing consumer market. This process resulted in what is called the Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0. Many technologies emerged and others that already exist started to be inserted in contexts with decision-making needs happening in real time. This is the case of the industrial robots. In this work, a case study was carried out in a company that manufactures electric motors, where the concepts of Industry 4.0 of real-time operation and decentralization were applied to create a proposal for a remote monitoring of industrial robots. The aim was to improve the decision-making process, só that informations are available to decision makers as soon as possible, enabling an investigation of solutions to problems that may arise in a more structured and assertive manner and in less time. As a main objective, a robot monitoring pilot was developed in a machining cell of electric motor endshields, where factor selection methods were used to define which signals from industrial robots should be monitored, based on the history of problems. As a result of the work, a reduction of 75% was achieved in the time spent by managers to check the operating status of the cell and a reduction of 98% in the waiting time to compile a history of operation by period. The decision-making process was improved, with a better structuring of the investigation of the problems and a reduction of 66% in the time for defining actions.
