dc.description.abstractCurrently, most construction projects use traditional network planning methods or Gantt’s schedule for project management. However, these methods have limited applicability if they are used isolated in railway construction projects, which are typically linear and require combined management with various tools. This study performs an analysis in the process of optimization of the schedule in the case study of a subway work by applying the Linear Scheduling Method (LSM) that uses the basic principles of the Line of Balance through the use of the Software TILOS Trimble. It was identified that the use of the traditional Gantt graph analysis method for linear infrastructure works should not be used isolated and therefore, the applicability of the LSM method in conjunction with the Gantt was evidenced in order to facilitate the management of the linear work schedule in a subway work, where from the generation and comparison of both diagrams it was possible to find gaps in the schedule and opportunities for improvement, of which it was possible to advance the end of the work scheduled.
