dc.description.abstractThe present study addresses the importance of organizational strategies and the effectiveness of strategic planning for corporate performance. The work consists of a research of qualitative approach, being the procedure a case study. The company under analysis is in the process of expansion, aiming to become a benchmark of productivity in its market, so the objective of this study is to contextualize the strategic process of the organization, verifying if the strategies implemented by it approach the perspectives of SWOT analysis: strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as, identify the perception of managers in this context. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews, documentary analysis, and application of a questionnaire, validated by Costa (2003), using a ten-point Likert scale. It had as a research universe all those involved in the decision-making process of the organization: its directors and managers. The main results are: (i) inefficiency of human resources management (ii) centralization of decision-making power (iii) superficial strategic process in relation to organizational threats (iv) high level of agreement between the organizational reality and the managers' perception (v) governance policies and rofessionalization as an alternative to the development of management. It can be concluded that the perspectives of the SWOT analysis are considered by the organization, and the same must be taken into account for the implementation of actions to complement its strategic planning process, in the implementation phase.
