dc.description.abstractMicrobiology and immunology are correlated areas, vaccines create immunological barriers against infectious diseases and are produced from microorganisms. Furthermore, vaccines have a relation with the social well-being, being themselves a transversal theme in teaching, where working interdisciplinarily in all areas of knowledge (scientific, technological and social) is desirable. Knowing their importance for the maintenance of life on earth, microbiology and immunology have become indispensable in science lessons. This work had as its objective the creation of a didactic sequence unifying the concepts of microbiology, approaching vaccination as a theme focused on problem-based learning, aiming at a meaningful learning. The proposed didactic sequence was assembled from active methodologies that are seen as having a high potential in the modern world, resulting in a didactic booklet for teachers to work with in the elementary school in a manner that helps and contributes in a changing and high quality teaching-learning experience.
