Abstract

The investment analysis involves decisions about the application of long-term funds, with the purpose of providing the adequate return to the shareholders. This article, at first, seeks to describe and conceptualize briefly the main methods of investment analysis. After that, it determines due to the need of a poultry industry the application of such methods in an investment, demonstrating projected results for the purpose of decision-making. And, it concludes the case study, comparing the results and demonstrating best guidelines for an investment with economic and financial viability. The results presented by the case study lead to conclude positively that with the application of the techniques mentioned, associated with the proper interpretation regarding the reality of the company, will assist the managers in the decision-making process.
