dc.description.abstractIn recent years interaction between school and business has given positive results promoting an atmosphere of cooperation in many areas. Strategies for the transfer of technology between school and business by means of mechanisms for interaction have been used to implement technological innovations. The objective of this study is to evaluate the viability of a new mechanism for technology transfer by means of alumnus and alumna analysis using a data warehouse as the analytic tool. In relation to the objectives we have an exploratory research project that in view of its technical procedures can be characterized as bibliographic research. To confirm the relevance of the subject, the manager of the monitoring area of alumnus and alumna at CEFETES was interviewed. Two other interviews were held with that manager to identify the data elements which would enable verification of school- business technology transfer by means of alumnus and alumna. After tabulation of all of the information a system for alumnus and alumna data entry and proposed interface screens were developed. With the system of alumnus and alumna specification constructed, the process of dimensional modeling for the data warehouse tool was initiated. The dimensional modeling reports served to define the indicators of school-business technology transfer. The definition of those indicators makes it possible to confirm the viability of the process.
