Propriedade intelectual e a viabilidade de proteção de produtos artesanais

Abstract

This paper presents an investigation of the handicraft products from feasibility protection of intellectual property. The spread of crafts has been noted as one of the segments with great chances to increase their market and consequently its value, having a mode of production itself, differentiated and innovative character. Intellectual property because it is a topic that discusses the regulatory framework of global trade and consisting of a set of intellectual property rights that are linked to human knowledge and potential to gain economic value, can contribute to the recognition of the economic and cultural value craft. The research is organized initially based on concepts involving intellectual property from a brief description of the intangible property protected by Law 9279, according to an explanation of Industrial Property Registration. Following is a brief description of concepts and an analysis of the Brazilian market Crafts, showing its forms of action. The field of research is the universe Art Curitiba - Craftsmen Association of Curitiba, which aims to analyze two craft products to verify their protection possibilities. The application of this study enhances the knowledge of a combination of still new subjects and is both followed a theoretical way to present alternatives and debates on the subject, proposing a reflection on the social and economic role both of intellectual property as handmade product.
