dc.description.abstractSignificant learning is presented today in the academic scenario as an excellent alternative to the passivity in which students find themselves. It brings with it a stimulus for knowledge, using different tools to make learning more participatory and interactive. Chemistry is one of the disciplines that has a strong appeal to practical activities, whether in elementary education – science teaching – or in high school. In the present work, an activity was proposed for a second-year class of Integrated Technical Education, from the Federal Institute of Education – IFPR. For the proposal, a tool from the “Application Factory” platform was used. The application made it possible for students to present various icons within the theme of practical classes, such as safety standards, glassware and their uses. Videos and exercises were used and, at the end, an opinion poll was made available to students, in order to find out how their interaction with the application was. It was possible to observe at the end of the project that, by sharpening the students’ curiosity for a new way of studying and interacting with the contents, autonomy and engagement in the search for knowledge develops simultaneously. Thus, the use of applications presented itself as a very promising aid alternative to traditional Chemistry laboratory classes, encouraging changes in the way students relate to the use of technologies and, thus, improve and boost their learning.
