Abstract

This study presents the proposal of a fixed fire-fighting system, which focuses on work with the class of flammable and combustible liquids, with the use of the DCP extinguishing agent (Dry Chemical Powder). Deals with the concept of fire and combustion, conflagration and their means of propagation, fixed systems in general and the technology employed in the new system proposed. Discusses the use of the extinguishing agent, their relevant advantages and disadvantages therefore the justification of its choice. Presents the elements and operating mechanisms for the system. Describes the practical means for designing a system. Undertakes a case study for a deposit of flammable and combustible liquids, located in the Federal Technological University of Paraná - Campus Pato Branco.
