dc.description.abstractOver the years, the advancement in technology has been revolutionizing ways of interaction between people and labor market worldwide. This advancement has already reached civil construction, mainly at project levels, because it allows improvement on the way to design reinforced concrete structures, with the possibility of predicting major variability of actions an effort required in the structure in a more precise and consistent manner. From this, a soil-structure interaction comes from these technological advancements due to the structural calculation software. In addition to modifying the consideration that most designers make of modeling a building with the consideration of non-displaceable supports, that is, without taking into account the displacements of soil mass. The soil-structure interaction allows evaluating the infrastructure and the superstructure as a whole, so considering the settlements of the soil mass and, consequently, the effects caused to the structure. This work aimed to study the influence of the soil-structure interaction in reinforced concrete multi-story buildings with the aid of CAD/TQS software through SISEs, taking into account the variation in the number of floors and how the structure’s stiffness is influenced having as the basis of a model building dimensioned from the consideration of non-displaceable supports. Also noticing the variation in the amount of material in the different solutions. From the results obtained in the CAD/TQS software, it was noticed that there was a redistribution of efforts in the structure, with the columns with higher load to columns with lower loads. There are also variations in the efforts of bending moments in addition to inversions of direction that directly influence the dimensioning of the parts. In conclusion, the consumption of steel in the structures was increased when considering a soil-structure interaction in the design of the building. Regarding to the building’s rigidity, there was an increase in the global instability coefficient in both buildings, 5 and 10 floors, in addition to an increase in total displacements and between floors in the two models.
