dc.description.abstractThe present research has as objective the theoretical-technical basis for the elaboration of the project of the Center of Resocialization for adolescents in conflict with the law, in the city of Curitiba / PR, from the analysis of the reasons that lead adolescents to commit infractions, taking into account the social structure in which they are inserted. The main motivation for addressing this issue is the concern about how the process of punishment occurs to adolescents who are in a situation of non-conformity with the law, without often taking into account the cause and effect relationship between the commitment of crimes and the social condition in which they live. Based on the historical analysis of the treatment directed at children and adolescents who may have committed some infraction, there is a legitimacy of violence as a form of resocialization, which violates the basic rights established by the Statute of the Child and Adolescent. Although there have been changes in relation to the understanding of the adolescence phase as a determinant for the formation of the subjectivity of the individual, and consequently the reformulation of pedagogical guidelines aimed at resocialization, the spaces that shelter the socio-educational institutions still maintains elements that refer to the old punitive culture, such as walls, grids, littlevisual permeability and constant vigilance. Understanding architecture as an essential tool in the conditioning of sensory behaviors and perceptions, an adequate physical space is of utmost importance for the resocialization of these adolescents in order to guarantee their rights and provide new opportunities and perspectives for the future.
