dc.description.abstract | In the analysis of creating more efficient manufacturing processes, the number of researches that aim at maintaining the volume of final product while decreasing the raw material consumption has gained prominance. This research aims to present a system where the currently wasted surface discharge water is heated to feed the boiler. It is expected to reduce fuel consumption and maintain the level of steam produced. Initially, concepts considered fundamental for the understanding of the work, such as: boilers, heat exchangers and pumps were presented. Based on the research, it was decided how the components would be distributed in the system, and the essential parameters to design the equipments. With gathered information those calculations of the heat exchanger and pump were shown. After that, with the help of the manufacturers, the components that meet the imposed design conditions were selected. It was concluded that the surface discharge is insufficient to heat a considerable volume of the boiler feed water and it was suggested future researches. | |
