dc.description.abstractThe increasing generation of solid waste by society contributes to the degradation and cause serious environmental problems. The cafeterias fit the generating enterprises of solid waste, generating a characteristic waste the organics, plastics, metal, sanitary waste and paper / cardboard, making it needed a management plan for any debris produced on site. For this work of completion, we proposed a Plan for Solid Waste Management (SWMP) for a diner in the city of Apucarana - PR, aiming to minimize the generation and improve the management of solid waste in the venture . This study was based on a quantitative and qualitative survey during the two-week period, one in October and another in November, affecting the classification of the waste according to NBR 10004/2004 ABNT. In all sectors of the cafeteria, the segregation of solid waste by employees doesn’t occur because the dumps are not labeled in the site with the inappropriate positioning of collectors containers. To remedy the shortcomings of the cafeteria, some measures of improvement in the company were proposed such as: segregation of solid waste collected, identifying bins according to CONAMA resolution n° 275 of April 25, 2001, organization of containers collectors, proposals to reduce, reuse and proper disposal. These proposals improve solid waste management and provide adjustments in the cafeteria.
