The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) has great national importance, being an excellent source of protein and can be grown throughout the year in certain regions of the country. Because it is one of the main sources of food in the diet of the Brazilian population, genetic improvement studies must be constant, aiming at different production systems. One of the challenges for the adoption of organic systems for bean production is the identification of cultivars adapted to this management. The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of F4 families resulting from the cross between the cultivars IAC Milênio and ANFc9, aiming to obtain a lineage for the organic production system. 183 families were evaluated, evaluating the yield components, correlation coefficients, and their color. For the yield components, T-tests were performed at 5 and 1% probability, mean values, variances, and standard deviation and compared with the genitors. It was possible to observe families that obtained satisfactory results regarding the following characters: grain mass per plant (MGP), number of legumes per plant (NLP), sieve yield (RP%), and insertion of the first legume (IPL), being them: family 162 with 40.26g MGP, 31 NLP, 97.42 RP% and 14cm IPL; family 168 with 40.06g MGP, 35 NLP, 94.21 RP% and 16.46cm IPL; family 267 with 39.96g of MGP, 29 NLP, 97.15 of RP% and 17.50cm of IPL, family 202 with 39.52 of MGP, 40 NLP, 84.21 of RP% and 12.10cm of IPL and family 246 with 39.10g of MGP, 37 NLP, 95.24 of RP% and 13.88cm of IPL can originate promising strains. As for the results of Pearson's correlation coefficient of the characters evaluated in the families, they showed the existence of significant differences of 1% and 5% probability, highlighting the NLP X MGP of approximately 86% of correlation, concluding that the greater number of vegetables the plant has the greater the mass of grains per plant.
