dc.description.abstractThe present work is an implementation of the Anaerobic Digestion Model, ADM1, as a differential equations set on Matlab. The development and improvement of ADM1 has economical interest, it has been incorporated on TELEMAC project in the European Union to improve remote monitoring, control and operation of anaerobic treatment options at waste water treatment plants (WWTP); is has also been used as a trainning tool for WWTP operators. The implementation accomplished in this study did not achieved its objectives in the sense of executing ADM1 functionally. Still, restults show that the system requires improvement with respect to stiffness aspect, and also show that the current available Matlab ode stiff solvers may not be a sufficiently good option for ADM1 DE implementation.
