Estudo comparativo de estruturas de cobertura em madeira variando-se o vão e o tipo de tesoura

Abstract

Mentioning wooden roofing structures in Brazilian civil construction settings, empirical solutions are generally adopted at the construction site without the elaboration of projects that seek structural safety, rationality and economy. The Brazilian wood market precariousness is an aggravating factor. The material is commercialized without being selected, with out of standard reference moisture, besides the problem of native wood predatory exploration. The present study proposes that there might be a relevant economy on the used material volume to perform the cover structure, if the correct arrangement of trusses and the use of selected and dry wood are adopted. The comparison is among Howe, Fink and Pratt type of trusses, requested for three different gaps, in order to take advantage of each model potential. The study is carried out with wood from planted forest, and pursues to show also, the potential of using material from this source.
