dc.description.abstractThe machining processes, which consist of changing the dimensions of a part, are widely used in metallurgical and metalworking industries. Being one of the most equipment used for machining, with wide applicability and wide use, the lathe, which offers flexibility and reliability in the manufactured product, taking into account the use of the same. With this, the lathe becomes essential for the machining sector, presents high importance in the development of the world industry. Nowadays, any improvement of machine, tool, material or process, can become a reduction of manufacturing costs. The knowledge of the machining forces and vibrations is of paramount importance in the various cutting processes. Its components are of great importance, not only because the power required to perform the cutting can be estimated, but also because they must be considered in the designs of the machine tools and their elements. It may be directly responsible for the collapse of the cutting tool by plastic deformation of the edge, in addition to influencing the development of other mechanisms and processes of wear. For this reason, the importance of implementing a platform in LabView that shows in real and online time the forces and vibrations of the machining, and also saving and storing them for future studies. This work implemented the platform and performed experimental tests to evaluate the same with variations of the cutting advance, analyzing the relationship of each of them on the cutting forces and proving that it is often possible to machine a part with different advances and that each one will affect the final quality of the machined part, the time spent for machining and tool wear. Thus, as already highlighted the importance of the process for the mechanical metal sector, it is also important to have the forces and vibrations acquisition automation, which justifies the study of this area, for mechanical engineering where it is possible to reduce variability processes and ensure the most cost-effective machining.
