dc.description.abstractDue to the huge current development currently, in the food industry the legislation is necessary to regulate the industry in terms of quality, safety and labeling. The labeling of food products is an important link between the manufacturer / distributor and the consumer and the first customer contact with the product. The label has the function of guiding the consumer about the constituents of foods and can interfere with the consumer's purchasing decision. Despite several specific resolutions, the information must be included on the labels it is still observed the failure of the laws. This work aims to verify the compliance of labeling homemade breads, whole grain breads and cookies / crackers sold in the city of Campo Mourão - PR according to the law. Five labels for homemade bread, five breads and nine biscuits / crackers were analyzed. At the end of the study it was found that nineteen labels analyzed, 94.74% presented at least one type of non-compliance, and only 5.26% were in accordance with the established by Brazilian legislation. Regarding the type of irregularity to indicate the lot and the presence of allergens have less items appeared on the labels. Thus, it is evident that there is a lack by and microenterprises add some information on the label that are extremely important to consumers the government agencies responsible for enforcement of existing laws.
