dc.description.abstract | This work lists definitions of thermodynamic properties with the objective of assisting teachers and students of different levels of schooling in the understanding of thermodynamic cycles, specifically the Rankine cycle. In it, the Mollier diagram (pressure x enthalpy) representing the phases of water transformation and its behavior in the face of thermodynamics is presented. In this regard, is presented the project of the construction of a didactic workbench of a steam machine where working temperature and pressure, pressure vessel wall thickness, working power, required thermal load, vapor flow velocity and thermal efficiency at the end of the cycle are calculated, with the main purpose of verifying the behavior of the present equipment. Considerations are made so that the workbench can be didactic, counting on the presence of pressure gauges and thermometers for the pressure and temperature readings in different stages of the process. Safety will the main point of this Project, the reading equipment itself that identifies if there is no danger of explosions and thermal insulation that prevents people from burning due to high temperatures, also improving the efficiency of the equipment, in order to avoid loss of charge and the high formation of condensate due to thermal transformation. At the end of the work, the results of the calculations carried out to design the didactic workbench in different times of transformation of water from liquid to vapor are listed, taking into account the necessity of use, as well as proposing its effective construction. | |
