dc.description.abstractThis study presents the design and construction of a mounting base for a Block VIIs Open Alternative Compressor from Bitzer. Some base models were drawn up by using the computer program SolidWorks® 2013. In order to determine the best structure for construction, a numerical model was developed through Ansys® 14.0 and SolidWorks Simulation software. By using the software it was possible to conduct a study on the key concepts involved in mechanical vibration, modal analysis and finite elements. The selected model went through a continuous improvement process to correct some weakness, as well as to avoid resonance transference during the compressor motor drive. After the project was concluded, the construction stage was started, divided into steps: cutting of plates, mounting base welding and complete assembly of the structure.
