The quest for the technical and economic viability of waste recycling in the civil construction production chain addresses the new needs of the sector to promote economic growth integrated with social and environmental needs. The growing increase in the consumption of plaster carries with it the problem of waste generation, where the lack of research and the incorrect disposal ends up allocating the waste generated, in most cases, to landfills or irregular boot, without control or estimate of volume . In the present work, through literature reviews, it was possible to investigate the thermo-acoustic properties of the block of recycled gypsum made from postconsumption gypsum, and to compare the most commonly used sealing materials. The analysis of the results showed that the material is a good option. In the sonic transmittance class, the recycled gypsum block is 50% better than that of the cellular concrete block and 24% better than that of the ceramic block, thus meeting the minimum recommendations of the IPT together with the double plasterboard gypsum with glass wool filling. In the thermal analysis the material met all the recommendations for light, light reflective and heavy wall. This shows the feasibility of recycling gypsum, which until then was considered a harmful material to the environment.
