Abstract

The objective this work was to evaluate production of lambs grazing annual pasture as exclusive food or as daily supplementation with concentrated or corn silage at the ration of 1.0% of the body weight. The animals will be weighed every 21 days, will be additionally assessed the status of body condition. The used grazing method was continuous with variable stocking. He took place analysis of the pasture for the method of couple sampling, where the average of forage mass presented to the animals supplemented was of 2.375,6 kg/MS there are for corn silage and 2.529,9 kg/MS there is for concentrated, superior to the treatment no supplemented, that presented 1.745,9 kg MS/ha The average daily weigth gain of animals supplemented with concentrates was 129 g, differing from the other treatments. The average daily gain of animals supplemented with corn silage was 100 g and 80 g of non-supplemented. The body weigth gain per hectare of animals supplemented with concentrate and corn silage did not differ comparing supplemented and non-supplemented with corn silage was not obtained difference. The animal load was similar among the tested alimentary handlings being of 1.440,1 to 1470,7 kg PV/ha. The supplementation with corn silage can be used for lambs maintained in pasture in substitution to the concentrate without damage in the earnings of alive weight for hectare.
